This is deliberately arty and willfully difficult work, to be sure. Yet the discordant riffs are surprisingly gripping: the two guitar/growling bass attack gives the songs both punchiness and fullness. Bassist/singer Anita's unearthly, I-drink-my-own-blood wail is harrowing.
