| Anna Karina (born 22 September 1940, Solbjerg, Denmark – died 14 December 2019, Paris, France) was a Danish-French film actress, director, screenwriter, and singer, known as an icon of the French nouvelle vague.
She moved to Paris in 1957 to pursue a modeling career. Gabrielle Coco Chanel gave her her name and she embarked on an acting career, collaborating with Jean-Luc Godard on seven films between 1961 and 1967. She was married to Jean-Luc Godard from 1961 to 1967 and to Daniel Duval from 1978 to 1981. She was married to Dennis Berry from 1982 until her death in 2019. |
