Charles Strouse is one of the more decorated songwriters of his generation. He's the man behind relentless songs like "Tomorrow" and "It's a Hard-Knock Life" (give thanks, Jay-Z) from the Annie soundtrack, which is one of a only handful of musical soundtracks to go gold. He's won Tony awards for the music in Annie, Bye Bye Birdie and Applause, and left an indelible mark on American popular culture. He also co-wrote the theme song "Those Were the Days" for the '70s sitcom All in the Family.
