Guitar Gable was the stage name used by (born August 17, 1937, Bellevue, Louisiana, USA – died January 28, 2017, Opelousas, Louisiana, USA), an American Louisiana blues, swamp blues and swamp pop singer, guitarist and songwriter. His son is also a musician. He and his band became 's preferred studio musical ensemble and would back up a great number of artist that recorded for the label during the mid to late 50s such as or . Under this alias, backed up always by his band "The Musical Kings" and through Records, he recorded Caribbean-flavored instrumentals including "Congo Mombo", "Guitar Rhumbo" and "Gumbo Mombo" and faster rock and roll tracks such as "Cool, Calm, Collected"; but the most interest came with ballads "Irene" "Life Problem" and the original version of the swamp pop classic "This Should Go On Forever". After parting ways with and in the early 60s, Gable had more releases on , served in the military and kept performing in local clubs until he retired in the 1980s.
