ED BRUCE Vinyl Records and CDs

ed bruce

This country artist has had a lucrative three-tiered music career as a recording artist, jingle singer, and an A-list songwriter whose material has enjoyed a long run of chart success. He started his career at Sun Records in the late 1950s at the tail end of the Rockabilly craze. After moving to Nashville in the '60s, he had hit records with "Walkers Woods" and 1981's No. 1 hit "You're the Best Break This Old Heart Ever Had." Along the way, Charlie Louver, Tanya Tucker and others also took Bruce's songs into the charts. Bruce's best known song, "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys," was a monster hit and is still a signature song for Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.
