JACKSON JANET Vinyl Records and CDs
While the rest of her illustrious family was making music history, Janet Jackson spent her childhood on more '70s sitcoms than McLean Stephenson. But in 1986, when even Michael's career started sliding downward, Janet hit the big time with Control. Produced and guided by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Jackson broke worldwide with the critically acclaimed Rhythm Nation 1814. A bracing combination of state-of-the-art dance pop, modern R&B, hip-hop and Adult Contemporary, it set the stage for the rest of her career. Since then, Jackson's re-sculpted physique has often earned more notice than her music, but the acid jazz-y single "Got 'Til It's Gone" shows that Janet Jackson continues to explore her musical identity while her prodigiously talented brother hides away in Neverland.
