Rusty Warren was a comedic trailblazer. She sang bawdy, monologue-filled romps and had a smash hit with her 1960 album Knockers Up!. The sexual revolution of the late 1960s pretty much made Warren's act old hat and seriously dented her star. But her material is more than just glitzy smut -- like an Eisenhower-era riot grrrl, Rusty Warren brought a healthy female sexuality and exposed male hypocrisy to the American public. She is featured in RE/Search's Incredibly Strange Music Vol. 2 and her album covers, which feature a lot of Warren's assets, have become collector's items.
