This Bolivian supergroup started out as a wedding band in the early '90s in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. By the late '90s, they had become Bolivia's premier pop group thanks to a headlining run in the Carnival and the global hit "La Bomba." 1998's El Sapo proved the turning point, going multiplatinum in Bolivia, platinum in Mexico and gold in numerous other countries thanks to its winning combination of pop, folklorico and reggae. Despite some lineup changes, the band continues to be led by founder Fabio Zambrana and Ricardo Fries.
