Previously known as T.I.P., T.I. is an Atlanta emcee with a knack forcatchy hooks and no shortage of rhymes about the grim realities of dailylife in the drug game. His first album, 2001's I'm Serious, failedto make much noise, so he was released from Arista. However, that setbackpushed him to try harder: T.I. started his own label, Grand Hustle, whichended up moving 20,000 units of the underground CD In Da Streets, Parts1 and 2. Impressed by his regional fanbase, Atlantic picked him up andput out his second album, Trap Muzik, in 2003.
