Somewhere between Tupac and Soundgarden lies Trik Turner, kicking out soft raps on sentimental themes, then delivering nervy raw takes on drug addiction. The surprise in this band is the occasional legit-sounding raps and a general authenticity of emotion lacking from so much of the genre.
