The late Memphis-based piano player and singer Laury recorded his debut record when he was almost eighty years old. His style is a rollicking blend of barrelhouse boogie and Chicago Blues piano with energetically exuberant vocals. He was a close friend of pianist Memphis Slim, and their styles are quite similar.
