In the 1980s Corey Hart had two major hits: "Sunglasses At Night" was a New Wave-y pop rock song, and "Never Surrender" was a dramatic slow-dance/couple-skate staple. Hart sang with an urgent, exaggerated enunciation that gave him a rather distinctive style. He continued to put out records into the '90s, but never really made it back onto the charts after "Never Surrender" finally faded. Most recently he worked with the French balladeer Cherie, producing a few tracks on her debut album.
