Alongside Big Punisher and Fat Joe, the rather happily dubbed Tony Sunshine was one of the many voices heard on Terror Squad's self-titled debut from 1999. Sunshine had worked as an emcee in the early '90s, opening shows for Big Pun before he became a part of the group. The Bronx-bred hip-hop star had been watching guys like Big Pun and Fat Joe come up in the rap game, impressed at how these neighborhood talents were able to translate their sound onto a national level. Joe brought him into the fold, helping him nurture his talents. Although both Fat Joe and Tony Sunshine were both floored by the death of Big Pun from a heart attack in 2000, they were able to rise above the tragedy and begin recording some of their strongest material.
