Brave Combo take their Polka music very seriously, but that doesn't mean they aren't having a laugh at the same time. The band came to prominence -- or whatever it is that cult bands come to -- in the early 1980s with their Polka treatments of Classic Rock songs by folks like the Doors and Iron Butterfly. This led the band to a longstanding relationship with Rounder Records. Although Polka remains a mainstay of the band's musical vocabulary, music from all over the world is fair game, and has found its way into the band's eclectic Worldbeat/Ethnic Fusion sound.
