| A Japanese visual kei rock band from Hokkaido. Originally formed by ex-members of fellow Hokkaido visual bands, JeauL and Nervous, the group would soon after change their lineup entirely, with only one member of JeauL, bassist Yukku, remaining in e.mu’s lineup. After having a thriving run in the independent circuit and gaining strong popularity through their involvement in the popular Kaikan Phrase manga, e.mu went major in late 1999 and signed to Unlimited Records, which was the home of Japanese rock icons Glay, and their 2000 debut album “Force of Fifth” was produced by Pata of X Japan fame. e.mu later went on to embark on a massive tour that would stretch from 2001 through most of 2002, and didn’t release any material throughout 2001, thus killing their commercial buzz. Their 2002 comeback single “Will/Didn’t Say...” was a commercial flop. e.mu later became an independent band once more in late 2002, before disbanding all together in July of 2003. |
