Mary Gauthier's Americana musings are chock full of country soul. Songs like "Drag Queens in Limousines" bring to mind a younger sounding Lucinda Williams -- doing an imitation of Hank Williams. In that respect, Gauthier plays a refreshing, Alt Country approximation of old timey Honky-Tonk songs.
