Welsh-born actor, one of the leading Hollywood stars of the 1960s. In 1978 he was the narrator on the double-album "Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds", from which was extracted the classic synth-disco single "The Eve Of The War".
He was born 10 November 1925 in Pontrhydyfen, Wales, UK and died 5 August 1984 in Céligny, Switzerland. He was married to Sybil Williams from 1949 to 1963, two times to Elizabeth Taylor from 1964 1974 and 1975 to 1976. Father of Kate Burton.
