A three-man crew from Lafayette, Louisiana, Da Entourage embodies the stereotypical Dirty South sound, with lots of synths, heavy bass, and trunk-rattling beats behind heavily accented rhymes about life on the streets. Though they never achieved the crossover superstardom of their peers from No Limit and Cash Money, Da Entourage were popular locally, and released their debut LP Entourage Vol. 1 in 2001 on the independent label, Red Boy Records. The following year saw them drop Entourage Vol. 2, which included the hit single "Bunny Hop." Thanks to the hype, Universal picked them up and re-released that LP in 2003.
