Redpath is a preeminent translator of traditional Scottish Folk songs. Her delicate soprano voice is light as air, but carries with it the strength of a storm. Since the late '70s, Redpath has lectured on the history and lore of Scottish folk music at Stirling University in Scotland, as well as at Harvard and Wesleyan universities in the U.S.
