A cult diva. At the age of 15 she married the, 66 years old, then, latin maestro Xavier Cugat. Mid - to late 70's she released some disco albums at Salsoul Records with The Salsoul Orchestra, led by Vincent Montana, Jr.. To most American audiences, Charo is the voluptuous bimbo of game show fame, whose running gags include "cuchi cuchi" and mangling the English language. She has big hair, dangling cleavage, and usually she is the butt of her own jokes. She is, however, an accomplished classical guitarist upon which her later work concentrates.
