Born on Oʻahu; but at age 14 moved to Kauaʻi where he worked as a cowboy and became fluent in the Hawaiian Language. Recorded at least eleven albums.
2004: Winner of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts.
