Everyone knows Connick the romantic crooner, but he's also an incredible jazz pianist. For the first time in years the dapper star cuts loose on a serious Monk and Brubeck-style bop rampage. The original tunes are strong, and Connick's quartet sizzles -- here's hoping Connick doesn't wait so long for the next quartet disc.
