This remix EP of selections from Goldie's 1998 double album, Saturnz Return, offers exactly what its title suggests: a colorful orbit around a larger body of work. A remix album can offer new perspectives on an artist, but those hoping to gain insights into the Goldie oeuvre by hearing the drum-and-bass master turning the tables on himself will likely be disappointed. Most tracks, including Grooverider's hypnotic take on "Temper, Temper," disassemble the original songs into fractured labyrinths that shimmer beautifully but add little depth… Read More to music that was beautifully fractured to begin with.
