MOONSHAKE Vinyl Records and CDs
| |
Taking their name from a song by seminal Krautrockers Can, Moonshake attempted to take the former band's sense of artistry and experimentation into the early '90s. Their records were a jumbled yet cohesive collection of hip-hop beats, Dub, minimalism, angular art pop and the occasional avant-squawk. Eschewing breathy vocals for something more sharp and hostile, Moonshake came across more like Post-Punk revisionists. In 1994, co-songwriter Margaret Fiedler left to form Laika, leaving mainstay David Callahan to focus on his thick agit-funk and increasingly dark and disparaging musical elements before breaking up the band in 1997.
