A New York emcee with an inimitable rhyme style, Grand Puba has been gripping mics since the mid-1980s. Best known for his work with Brand Nubian, Puba's high-pitched flow accentuated the group's classic 1990 debut One For All. He went solo soon after, releasing Reel To Reel in 1992 and 2000 three years later. In 1999 he reunited with Brand Nubian for their impressive Foundation LP, while 2001 saw the release of his third solo joint Understand This. In a climate overrun with interchangeable rappers and redundant deliveries, Grand Puba stands alone, with a swaggering sing-song flow all his own.
