One-time goateed leader of House of Pain, Erik Schrody a.k.a. Everlast shed his Celtic's jersey and let his hair grow out in 1996. He returned in '98 with an acoustic urban folk-hop record that garnered him both critical and commercial acclaim. A near-death experience seems to have mellowed his former brawling gutter-punk image. With a deep and textured voice, he relates tales of street-survival and calls for us all to appreciate the little things, armed only with an acoustic guitar and some hip-hop beats.
