Pop hybrid collective Bran Van 3000 initially turned heads in 1998 with the kitschy, radio-primed single "Drinking in L.A." With a sound colored by assorted hooks sampling hip-hop, Metal, Bluegrass and club music, these Montreal-based genre-jumpers offer sugary pop confections to the mainstream. A guilty pleasure of the sweet-and-sour variety.
