He was instrumental in the careers of many Southern artists, including Joe South, Billy Joe Royal, Tommy Roe, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Loretta Lynn, Ray Stevens and The Tams, to name a few. He was the first inductee in the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame, and also earned a place in the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame in 1984; Lowery Music was sold to the Sony Corporation in 1999.
