Long Beach native Warren G has been making moves since the early '90s. He was the one who first hooked Dr. Dre up with Snoop Dogg, and his work through the years has helped to further develop G-Funk's style and sound. Warren's first single, Regulate (1994) became an enormous hit, and set the stage for his classic debut album Regulate...G Funk Era. The record, although influenced by Dre's production, had a decidedly mellower tone and was filled with laidback bass grooves, fluid keyboards, smooth rhymes, and Nate Dogg's soulful crooning. His second album Take A Look Over Your Shoulder went double-platinum, featuring a remix of Bob Marley's "I Shot The Sheriff." Warren's third release, I Want It All (1999) rocketed up the charts and confirmed his status as a nice emcee and an exceptional producer. In 2001, he dropped his fourth LP The Return Of The Regulator.
