Chicago's Smoking Popes have Amy Heckerling's "Clueless" to thank for their "Need You Around" becoming somewhat of a familiar hit. While many were quick to compare singer Josh Caterer to Morrissey because of their shared penchant for emotionally overwrought singing, the band more closely resembles a union of Cheap Trick's Power Pop and the lyrical self-awareness of the Offspring's Dexter Holland.
