Formed in South Wales in the early 2000s by singer Benji Webbe and bass player Daniel Pugsley, Skindred fuse the once-disparate strains of reggae, rapcore and punk, fathering a highly distinctive, immediate new animal. Fans of 311 and P.O.D. will want to check them out, posthaste. Their debut album, 2004's Babylon, features a blend of genres that really hasn't been done before, and they avoid the novelty-band trap, thanks to Webbe's impressive vocals and a particularly riff-happy guitarist.
