One might say that Queensryche came along as a culmination of '80s music and a transition into the '90s. Their emphasis on almost operatic vocals and symphonic rock arrangement, in conjunction with guitar-based art rock, nabbed them a huge audience, just as many other '80s Metal bands were beginning to look for new jobs.
