King Missile are probably better known for their irreverent humor and tongue-in-cheek storytelling than their actual musical style. Cult faves since the release of their quirky hit, "Jesus Was Way Cool," KM's lyrics are rambling insights into vocalist John S. Hall's keen, biting wit. Happy Hour, the band's 1992 release, produced the track "Detachable Penis," which landed them a spot on college radio charts and established the band as a viable alternative act. The song would achieve renewed popularity the following year, as a cutting joke made at John Wayne Bobbit's expense.
