KERSHAW,DOUG Vinyl Records and CDs
Doug Kershaw is yet another testament to the unique vitality of America's regional music scenes, and specifically, the musical fertility of southwest Louisiana. Kershaw crossed over to the world of pop when he signed a deal with Warner Bros. at the end of the 1960s, becoming a star and a hip purveyor of Cajun culture at rock clubs and on festival stages worldwide. Interestingly, he'd already sold millions of records as a country artist, and had been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since the late 1958. He dragged the sound of a whining Cajun fiddle into the mainstream with "Diggy Diggy Lo" and "Louisiana Man" (the latter has been covered countless times). Kershaw remains an active artist and has never abandoned his Cajun roots.
