Hailing from Flint, MI (hometown of MC Breed), the Dayton Family dropped their first album What's On My Mind? in 1995. Their no-nonsense ghetto rap won them love across the Midwest, and an appearance on a No Limit's Down South Hustlers compilation furthered their rep. F.B.I. followed in '96, but the group's ongoing legal dramas led to their to their demise. In 1999, both Shoestring and Ghetto E put out solo albums.
