Historically important as the first recorded band of the much travelled jazz guitarist , 'Igginbottom were one of the most eclectic/bizarre/understated of all bands from the early UK progressive rock era. Their music was not quite jazz, not quite rock, sparse yet complex. At the time "Igginbottom's Wrench" would have been put in the "underground" or "avant-garde" sections in rock record shops, and it soon disappeared, unknown to most until its reissue on CD in Japan in the late 1980's.
