Who better to create glam-inspired power pop than a man that looks like a cross between Gandalf the Grey and Bozo the Clown? After helping to found the Move and E.L.O., Wood formed Wizzard, a band that took big rock riffs and applied them to 1950s rock and early Beat pop, and added a bright sheen of '70s gloss. The result was a huge, foot-stomping rock celebration.
