Some would call this New Age because of its motivational soulfulness, but it has the uplifting R&B punch typical of this Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer's music. On her first release where she's also producer, Raitt takes the reinsand sings of strength and survival, her slide guitar proving to be a lot more inspirational than any ethereal harp.
