Review
Recorded on November 26, 1976 at the end of his first U.S. tour, this is not an essential addition to Peter Tosh's discography. Novices would be better off picking up one of the late reggae star's early solo studio albums, such as Legalize It, from which most of the material on this seventy-five-minute disc is drawn (although the anthemic title track itself is inexplicably missing). It does serve as a document of what reggae sounded like when it was making its first serious inroads into the American audience. There's a rock-reggae crossover… Read More feel to the arrangements, most audibly via the presence of guitarists Al Anderson (from NRBQ) and Donald Kinsey (the future leader of the Kinsey Report). The presence of top Jamaican rhythm section Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare refutes any complaints about the band's legitimate reggae credentials, and Tosh puts the songs over with commendable energy.
