If you wonder why Rawls has a reputation as one of the most dynamic live performers in the business, just check out this platter from the late-1970s. He excels at blues, soul, jazz, pop and show biz glitz. Who else but Lou could do a funky protest riff on blowing up the ghetto and then croon "Send in the Clowns" all in one show?
