Review
The imported sports car-driving, karate-kicking Smith was about as far away from the chicken shack as you could get, but this album captures juke joint jazz at its best. Smith is in top form as usual and the magnificent Kenny Burrell is on guitar; this is the session that first spotlighted soon-to-be sax star Stanley Turrentine.
