Review
Promised Land was recorded in Memphis, down at the Stax studios in 1973. Elvis is in great form here, busting out with muscle-bound versions of tracks by Chuck Berry (the title track) and Waylon Jennings ("You Asked Me To"). It's not quite the explosive performance of Elvis In Memphis, but "It's Midnight" comes close.
