The album that found the Damned drifting away from punk while successfully crafting professional but vital hard rock, goth and pop. Captain Sensible gets sensitive with Kinks-ian class while singer Dave Vanian's "The Dog" (about the freaky girl from "Interview With a Vampire") is the defining Goth Rock song.
