Review Brown revisits his biggest hit, "Merry Christmas Baby," and sings a bevy of other downhearted holiday originals. His singing and piano playing are as sophisticated as ever, and his lovely, idiosyncratic reading of "Silent Night" perfectly shows off his jazzy West Coast blues style. Solid assists come from Bobby Forte (sax) and Johnny Otis (vibes).
