Review
While West Coast cool jazz musicians were largely informed by bebop, they loved playing with the swing masters they grew up on. This date from guitarist Kessel is a great case in point: young modernists like Shelly Manne, Bill Perkins, Red Mitchell, and Jimmy Rowles jam away with elder statesmen "Sweets" Edison and Georgie Auld. Good fun from start to finish.
