Fans of the Animals ought to know that that band's true talent lay in organist/arranger Alan Price. This comp covers his entire career, though the best tracks are the R&B-infused Brit Invasion material of the '60s. With a fondness for ornate, carnival-like atmospheres and solid soul, Price delivers his own material, plus he covers the likes of Randy Newman and Sam Cooke.
