The cult of the La's is a deep one, especially for those who know that the jangle pop underdogs inadvertently taught Oasis' Liam Gallagher to sing. That said, one should approach this ragtag collection of low-production demos with a fly-on-the-wall mindset of watching a documentary on the birth of a band finding its sound.
