Review
Marvin Gaye was never a soul shouter in the same vein as, say, Jackie Wilson or Otis Redding; given the chance, he'd often drift toward the more subdued, crooning side of the soul spectrum. Gaye's earliest musical influences came from people like Nat "King" Cole, to whom he pays tribute on this restrained yet soothing 1965 outing.
