Diego Torres' mother is the much-beloved Argentinean singer Lolita Torres, and the family business got into his blood early: Torres started a band called La Marca when he was just a teen. Despite a detour into acting in the 1980s, Torres never stopped singing, and his career began to bear fruit in the '90s. His self-titled debut was successful but it was 1994's Tratar de Estar Mejor, with its heady mix of funk, reggae and balladry, that really established him as a pop stalwart.
