After a first attempt with his band in 1972, and started Tjens Couter (made up out both of their names). They released their first single [r=1136518] in 1975. In 1977 bassplayer and drummer joined the band and the name was changed to Tjens Couter and the T.C. Band.
Tjens Couter deserves an important place in Belgian music because it was the direct predecessor to .
A few months after the official name change Paul Decoutere left the band.
He continued to make music. He was a part of (with Ferre Baelen) and went solo years later.
